Hurricane Irene

The sun is shining this morning; the air crisp and calm, and Fetch 'n Fun is open!  Despite the tree that fell on our power lines we are happy to report that the generator works!  Just moments after the  power flickered and went off we heard the engine self start, and on came the power.  This is the first time we have had to depend upon the newly installed generator, so we are thrilled!  Through it all the dogs that were boarding remained calm. 

Some customers have chosen to walk their dog down the driveway or drive around the tree.  If you are headed this way, feel free to give us a call when you reach the end of the driveway and we will come get your dog.

Strut Your Mutt 2011

 

Each year the Animal Welfare Society of Kennebunk holds a walk called Strut Your Mutt.  Fetch 'n Fun gladly supports this event, and we will be there again this year.

Special Thanks to everyone who made today's fundraising event for Lucky Pup Rescue a success. Although we were small, we had a wonderful time, and raised some much needed money for LPR. Plans are already underway to make next year's bigger and better!

Name That Breed...

Kokeano has gotten his staples out and is doing wonderful. Thank you everyone for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers.  He’s back to himself, in fact; as if nothing ever happened.  Below are pictures of him and Nike playing. Kokeano is on the right – doesn’t he look happy!  And Nike is so happy to be able to play again.  Zander was so thrilled that Kokeano finally had his cone off that he danced around Kokeano when he came home without the cone on. 

We were told Nike was part Vizsla, and when I picked him up at the shelter, Jim told me he thought he might be part Weimaraner.  There is a new hybrid dog called a Weizsla – could that be what Nike is?  People that meet him have all had different ideas; lab, boxer, pit bull, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bullmastiff and more.  I am beyond curious.  So, after an investigation of Canine DNA kits and their validity, I have decided to have a little fun with this.  Would you like to join me?  You can buy a guess for $1.00 or 6 guesses for $5.00.  Winner gets the purse (after the cost of the DNA kit).  You can buy your tickets here, or over the phone.
